New research out of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis shows improved balance in older adults with hearing loss when they wear their hearing aids.
Patients with hearing aids in both ears performed better on balance tests when their hearing aids were turned on versus turned off. It appears that auditory information helps us maintain better balance.
