There are studies indicating that foods rich in certain nutrients can help boost hearing or, in some cases, prevent or delay hearing loss. Here are a few recommendations:
– Research shows that individuals who eat two or more servings of fish per week are 42% less likely to develop age-related hearing loss (presbycusis).
– People over the age of 50 with a folate deficiency (folic acid is found in leafy greens, black-eyed peas, kidney beans, black beans and nuts) have a 35% higher risk of hearing loss.
– Vitamin B12, Vitamin D and Zinc are all necessary vitamins and minerals for good hearing health.
